It is great to see an entire thread on my favorite animals. Scientists make mistakes too! Trivia: Did you know that the term “Hectocotylus” was once assigned to a supposed species of parasitic worms and that natural history books included illustrations complete with organ systems. These “worms” were really the broken off mating arms (arms not tentacles) of Argonauts (which are octopuses, not Nautilus, the “shell” is really an egg case in Argonauts. Athenia – very nice Nautilus illustration! Well done.
